Prepare to visit the Halcyon colony again next year

The Outer Worlds, Obsidian take on the Fallout franchise, is getting a DLC next year. The Microsoft-owned studio announced this weekend that “the journey isn't over yet” and The Outer Worlds players should prepare to visit the Halcyon colony again in 2020.

Not much is know about the DLC, but if you're an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you'll probably get it for free since The Outer Worlds is part of Microsoft's catalog of games that are offered for free to all those who pay the monthly subscription.

As some of you might already know, The Outer Worlds received the Best Narrative, Best Performance, Best RPG and Game of the Year nominations at The Game Awards, but only took the award for Best Performance (Ashly Burch) home. Even so, that's a great achievement considering the games it had to compete with, and Obsidian admitted that this is indeed an honor to receive so much attention from the media and gamers alike after such as long while.

To all of those who voted for us in The Game Awards, you are all fantastic and we are so grateful for your support. The reception to The Outer Worlds has been unbelievable to see and even just being nominated means a lot. However, the journey isn't over yet as we are excited to announce that we will be expanding the story through DLC next year! Details will be made available at a later date.”

If you haven't yet finished The Outer Worlds or you're not yet convinced that it's worth your time, we strongly recommend giving it a go this holiday season. It's one of the best RPGs launched this year and a great Fallout wannabe if you're in love with Bethesda's franchise. Here is hoping that Obisidian will unveil more details about its upcoming The Outer Worlds DLC sooner rather than later.
