NVIDIA has announced the availability of a new RTX/Quadro graphics driver update, namely version 461.92, which adds support for new Blender, V-Ray, and Redshift Studio application features and improvements.

Specifically speaking, Blender receives support for NanoVDB, hybrid rendering (all available GPUs and CPUs can be used), baking (with OptiX active), while V-Ray gets GPU-accelerated support for Light cache, tyFlow compatibility, and Out-of-core rendering capabilities.

Last but not least, version 461.92 improves hair shader for more realistic lighting, adds NVLink support, includes OSL shader support (users can write their own shaders), resolves Unreal Engine 4 Lightmass crashes (when using 7 or 8 GPUs), and other changes as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

As for the operating systems, the present update is compatible with the 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 10 platforms, as well as with Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, and 2019 platforms.

When it comes to installation, first ensure this release supports your GPU model (check the description page to make sure of that), save the appropriate package compatible with your computer, run it, and wait for the wizard to extract all files required for the upgrade.

Afterward, follow all on-screen instructions for a complete and successful installation. Also, it would be a good idea to perform a system reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly.

That said, download NVIDIA RTX/Quadro Graphics Driver 461.92, apply it on your computer, and always check our website to be aware when a newer version is available for download.
