NVIDIA has announced the availability of a new version of its Vulkan GeForce Graphics driver, namely the 398.91 build (24.21.13.9891), which add support for VK_NV_device_diagnostic_checkpoints extension, as well as a few bug fixes regarding certain known issues.

Specifically speaking, the current release resolves occasional problems that occurred after a clear in multisample rendering or during a mode switch while fullscreen, and corrects a few other minor driver and SPIR-V compiler bugs.

In terms of compatibility, the 398.91 release consists of two downloadable packages suitable for the 64-bit architectures of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems. Also, there is also a 396.51.02 package available that implements the same changes for Linux platforms.

Moreover, all available files can be applied to both desktop and notebook configurations. However, do not try installing these packages on OSes other than the ones mentioned above (even if it might seem to work at first), as this can lead to various malfunctions.

Therefore, to apply this new version, save and run the appropriate executable for your system configuration, wait for all files required for the installation to be extracted, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete upgrade.

Last but not least, once finished, it would be a good idea to perform a reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly. If this task isn’t requested automatically, however, make sure to carry it out manually to avoid any unwanted problems.

That said, download NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Vulkan Driver 398.91, follow all instructions highlighted above, and check back with us constantly to be aware when a newer version is available for download.
