iPhone 11 keeps dominating the mobile world, even during these difficult times, with Canalys estimates for the first quarter of the year showing that Apple sells nearly twice as much as the second-placed phone.

And surprisingly, Samsung isn’t the runner-up in the charts, but the Redmi Note 8 and 8T, which makes Xiaomi’s model the most successful Android smartphone in Q1.

Samsung, on the other hand, comes third and fourth with the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A10s. If you’re looking for the Galaxy S20, it’s nowhere to be seen in the top 10, and this makes total sense given Samsung’s mid-range phones have long been the devices accounting for a big share of all sales.

iPhone 11 still number one

Apple sold approximately 18 million iPhone 11 units during the quarter, while Xiaomi shipped over 8 million Redmi Note 8 and 8T units.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max has also been relatively successful with over 4 million units sold during the quarter, while the iPhone 11 Pro is number 10 in the charts with over 3 million units.

Apple is projected to the wraps off new iPhones in the fall after the company already introduced the 2020 iPhone SE last month. Needless to say, the iPhone 11 is expected to continue to sell well in the coming months, especially as the majority of markets are returning to normal and Apple reopens stores across the world.

For now, it’s very clear that the iPhone 11 remains a top seller all over the world, and its top rivals, including here Samsung’s flagships and the Google Pixel, are almost nowhere to be seen in global sales charts. As a matter of fact, Apple accounts for three of the global 10 smartphones in Q1 2020, while Samsung has four models in the charts.
