Nokia is one of the companies that are planning to expand their 5G device offering, and according to a new report, it’s already working on a successor to the Nokia 8.3 5G launched last year.

This could be the highly-anticipated Nokia X50, and NokiaPowerUser claims the device would once again come with impressive camera capabilities.

The company is expected to equip the phone with a 108MP primary sensor that would come alongside an army of sensors, such as ultra-wide, depth, macro, and telephoto. Most likely Zeiss optics would be in charge of improving the camera performance as well.

The device would sport a 6.5-inch display, and one of the biggest upgrades is the support for a 120Hz screen refresh rate. This would put the new Nokia phone in line with the other mid-range Android devices out there.

New Qualcomm chip

Power will come from a Snapdragon 775 processor, according to the same report. While this isn’t necessarily surprising given this is a mid-range chip, worth knowing is the processor isn’t yet released, but expect it to make its way to more devices rather sooner than later.

The new Nokia phone is supposed to easily get you through the day per a single charge, so the battery capacity could be upgraded to no less than 6,000 mAh. Without a doubt, this is could a welcome increase, especially because its predecessor came with a 4,500 mAh unit.

No specifics have been provided as to when this new Nokia phone could see the daylight, but it goes without saying it would be launched only after Qualcomm releases its new Snapdragon chip.

The report indicates the new Nokia 5G phone could therefore be announced in the second half of the year, but a certain dose of skepticism is still recommended at this point.
