Nokia 6.2 to Also Come with Camera Hole in the Screen

Phone manufacturers drilling holes in the screens of their devices is becoming a common trend, and the latest to do it is Nokia.

The company is expected to launch the Nokia 8.1 Plus with a hole in the screen for the front-facing camera, and according to information posted online by Twitter account Nokia Leaks, the Nokia 6.2 is the next in the queue to get the same treatment.

If these details are accurate, then the new mid-ranger could use the so-called camera hole-punch with the same goal in mind: increase the available screen estate without the need for a notch and at the same time, by reducing the size of the bezels as much as possible.

A pure mid-ranger

By the looks of things, despite being a mid-ranger, Nokia wants the Nokia 6.2 to get closer to a more premium device in terms of camera performance. It’s expected the device would feature a dual-camera 16-megapixel Zeiss optics, though the actual performance is something that we can’t talk about before testing the phone.

Nokia 6.2 is very likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, which is the living proof that Nokia wants the phone to be a mid-ranger by all means. It could also be paired with a maximum of 6GB RAM, and at the same time feature additional gimmicks like the OZO audio system.

While Nokia may be aiming for a global launch, it’s believed that the Nokia 6.2 could go live first in China. The cited source indicates that the release may take place in late January or early February, though there’s also a chance that the company may wait until the MWC next month to take the wraps off this device.
