The new release fixes some rare camera hangs

Today, Nikon rolled out a new firmware package targeted at its latest Z 7 digital camera, namely versions 1.01, which resolves an issue where the device would stop responding during burst photography (experienced in rare circumstances and specific settings).

In addition to that, the current update also allows users to access the Image review option in the PLAYBACK MENU even when no memory card is inserted.

When it comes to installation, first download and run the appropriate package for your computer OS; there are two files available: one for macOS systems and the other suitable for Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 platforms.

Now, make sure to back up all images and important files stored on the camera’s internal memory, transfer the newly created “firmware” folder onto a formatted memory card, insert it into the camera and turn it on.

If all is ok, select Firmware Version, follow all instructions displayed on-screen and allow the camera to perform the installation. Do not remove the camera’s memory card/battery, or interrupt the upgrade in any way, as this will lead to severe malfunctions.

Last but not least, once finished, it would be a good idea to remove and format the memory card used in this process and check the currently installed firmware to make sure it reads the correct version.

That said, download Nikon Z 7 Firmware 1.01, apply it using the steps mentioned above, and check back with us as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available for your camera.
