While all eyes are on Windows 11 these days, Microsoft continues the work on Windows 10, as this operating system will continue to receive support until October 2025.

A new feature update for Windows 10, for example, is projected to go live later this year, with Microsoft currently giving the finishing touches to this release with the help of testers enrolled in the Windows Insider program.

The most recent Windows 10 preview build went live in the Release Preview channel this week, and it comes with two important improvements.

First of all, IT admins can now add languages and new features related to languages remotely. Second of all, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint now sports an enhanced ability to identify and intercept ransomware.

More changes in the latest build

Windows 10 build 19044.1947 also comes with several other important fixes:

  • We fixed a known issue that causes Microsoft Edge to stop responding when you use IE mode. This issue also prevents you from interacting with a dialog.
  • We fixed an issue that affects transparency in layered windows when you are in High Definition remote applications integrated locally (RAIL) mode.
  • We fixed an issue that might generate error 0x1E when you shut down or restart a device.
  • We fixed an issue that causes a subscription activation to fail under certain conditions.
  • We fixed an issue that might cause some game installations to fail because of a licensing issue.
  • We fixed an issue that prevents virtualized App-V Microsoft Office applications from opening or causes them to stop working.
  • We fixed an issue that might cause the deployment of the Windows Hello for Business certificate to fail in certain circumstances after you reset a device.

Needless to say, these changes will soon go live for production devices running Windows 10 as well, but an ETA is not available at this point.
