Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 build to users in the Fast ring of the Windows Insider program.

Windows 10 build 18985 comes with a more polished Bluetooth pairing experience that’s based on the Swift Pair system that Microsoft introduced in April 2018 Update.

Beginning with this build, the whole pairing takes place in the notification, so you no longer need to head over to the Settings up to complete the process. Microsoft has also removed one notification and added a new Dismiss button to the first notification.

This new system is available for 50 percent of the insiders, and only a bunch of devices are supported, including Surface Precision Mouse, Microsoft Arc Mouse, and Surface Headphones.

Polishing the update experience

The same build also introduces changes for optional updates, with Windows 10 now delivering a refined optional update experience that also includes driver improvements.

“Once optional updates are detected, they will be listed in a new page under Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View optional updates. For drivers, you no longer need to browse Device Manager for a specific device to update. Windows Update will automatically keep your drivers up-to-date, same as before, but if you’re having a problem one of those optional drivers might help,” Dona Sarkar, chief of the Windows Insider program, explains.

The Snip & Sketch app has also received an overhaul, with all insiders in the Release Preview ring now receiving version 10.1907. This version was previously shipped to Fast and Slow rings, and it includes a single window mode, as well as zoom support.

As it’s the case of all the other builds released to Windows insiders, this one comes with more under-the-hood improvements and a series of known issues, and you can check them out in full in the box after the jump.
