Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy F62, a new smartphone specifically aimed at the Indian market and which comes with a gigantic battery taking everyone by surprise.

The F62 hides a 7,000 mAh battery under the hood, while also boasting 25W charging.

“Galaxy F62 comes with 7000mAh battery, Samsung’s industry-leading innovation tailor-made for Gen Z and young millennials who are increasingly spending more time on their mobile device. Galaxy F62 comes with an in-box Type C 25W superfast charger that recharges the smartphone’s 7000mAh battery in less than 2 hours. Galaxy F62 also has reverse charging and comes with a Type C to Type C cable, allowing young consumers to share their power on the go,” Samsung says.

The device packs a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus display and is powered by an Exynos 9825 chip paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. For storage, buyers get 128GB built in, but a microSD card slot is also offered for an extra of up to 1TB of storage.

Low price, premium features

When it comes to the camera, the rear setup features a quad configuration with 64 MP, 12MP, and two 5MP sensors, while the front-facing unit is a 32MP selfie shooter.

There’s obviously a fingerprint sensor offered on the device, but the F62 doesn’t come with the reader integrated into the screen, but placed on the side.

The extras include dual-SIM support, Samsung Pay, and One UI 3.1 out of the box.

The new model will be exclusively available in India, and pricing will start at INR 23999 for the 6/128GB variant and INR 25999 for the 8GB/128GB variant. For our American readers, this means the device will be available for approximately $330 and $360, thus becoming one very compelling purchase for Indian buyers.
