Microsoft has just shipped the August 2022 Patch Tuesday updates, and of course, Windows 10 is getting its very own batch of improvements as well.
While all eyes are on Windows 11 these days, Windows 10 continues to be the number one Windows version on the market, with Microsoft offering support until October 2025.
As a result, new monthly cumulative updates go live on every Patch Tuesday, and August 2022 makes no exception.
The list of new Windows 10 cumulative updates available today is the following:
- Windows 10 version 1507 — KB5016639 (OS Build 10240.19387)
- Windows 10 version 1607 — KB5016622 (OS Build 14393.5291)
- Windows 10 version 1703 — EOS
- Windows 10 version 1709 — EOS
- Windows 10 version 1803 — EOS
- Windows 10 version 1809 — KB5016623 (OS Build 17763.3287)
- Windows 10 version 1903 — EOS
- Windows 10 version 1909 — EOS
- Windows 10 version 2004 — EOS

Microsoft warns that after installing the most recent Windows 10 cumulative updates, users could end up struggling with certain printing devices, as some of them could be duplicated on the affected computers.
“Microsoft has received reports of issues affecting some printing devices following installation of this update. Symptoms observed may include duplicate copies of printers installed on a device (commonly with a similar name and the suffix "Copy1"), and applications which refer to the printer by a specific name cannot print. Normal printer usage might be interrupted, resulting in failure of printing operations,” Microsoft says.
The company recommends users to look in Settings and figure out which one is the printer that actually works and then delete the other profile. Furthermore, they should also update the printer drivers and therefore install the latest versions, as they are the less likely to end up hitting this problem after the latest cumulative updates.
