Samsung users can already send and receive messages from a Windows 10 PC using Microsoft’s Your Phone app if the device is supported, but as it turns out, the South Korean company might be working on a new way to make the whole thing much simpler.

It’s a new Samsung Messaging app that has recently appeared in the Microsoft Store, with the description suggesting that users of Samsung PCs running Windows 10 would be allowed to send and receive texts right from their desktops.

“Samsung Messaging can send and receive SMS text messages. The Microsoft People app can send SMS text messages to your contact's phone number. It is for devices capable of using mobile data (5G and 4G LTE). Only some Samsung models can run apps,” the description of the app reads.

The application lists the following models as currently supported:

  • Galaxy TabPro S
  • Galaxy Book 10.6 LTE
  • Galaxy Book 12 LTE
  • Galaxy Book2

No other information has been provided, and worth emphasizing is the app can’t be downloaded right now, even if you’re using a compatible device. For now, Samsung has remained tight-lipped on the ETA.

In the meantime, Microsoft is working non-stop on improving the experience with the Your Phone app, and Samsung flagships provide the best possible experience.

For example, the Your Phone app also allows screen mirroring, access to the photo gallery, and even running mobile apps on the desktop, with Microsoft trying to make the experience feel as native as possible. Users can run these apps in their own dedicated windows and even pin their icons to the taskbar to launch them easier and faster at a later time.

We’ve reached out to Samsung for more information on this mysterious app and will circle back when and if we get an answer.
