Mozilla has just rolled out a new revision of Firefox 96, this time with the focus on bug fixes and performance improvements on the supported platforms.

Firefox 96.0.2 is therefore a rather small release, with the official changelog revealing that it includes three different improvements, one of which is aimed at Linux.

Mozilla says it resolved a tab bug discovered in the Linux version of the app when the user was playing audio. The glitch caused the tab height to be displayed inconsistently on this platform, Mozilla says.

Then, the new version release includes a bugfix for an issue causing Lastpass dropdowns to be displayed as blank when the user was browsing the web using a private window.

And last but not least, if you were using a Facebook app and tried to resize it, the browser crashes, so this new update comes to resolve this behavior.

Other than that, this new version includes all the new features and fixes included in the previous releases, including the main Firefox 96.

This major update debuted on January 11, and it included several worthy improvements.

“We’ve made significant improvements in noise-suppression and auto-gain-control as well as slight improvements in echo-cancellation to provide you with a better overall experience. We’ve also significantly reduced main-thread load. Firefox will now default all cookies to having a SameSite=lax attribute which helps defend against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks. When printing, you can now choose to print only the odd/even pages,” Mozilla said at that time.

The new version of Firefox can be downloaded right now on all supported platforms, and needless to say, everybody is recommended to get it as soon as possible given it includes additional bug fixes.

The next major version of Firefox is expected in February as the update to Firefox 97.
