It will most likely be exclusive to Verizon in the U.S.

The DROID series is a Verizon affair, as Motorola and the Big Red have been working together to bring high-end Android smartphones in the United States for many years. The DROID family of smartphones can only be purchased in the U.S. at Verizon, but some of them are released globally under different names.

The newest phone belonging to the DROID series, the DROID Turbo 3, has just been leaked in several press pictures published on Weibo, the Chinese alternative to Facebook. Unfortunately, not many details come along with the leaked pictures, though some of the phone's specs are visible and can't be denied.

For example, the DROID Turbo 3 boasts an impressive 16-megapixel Hasselblad camera on the back, which features f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. The phone is very thin with the exception of the upper part where the camera module has been placed.

Other than that, we really don't know much else about the DROID Turbo 3. However, considering the fact that the smartphone should be unveiled in the coming weeks, we're expecting more details on the matter very soon.

It's worth noting that the last DROID family smartphone launched by Verizon and Motorola in the United States, the DROID Turbo 2, made its debut on the market sometime in October.

Obviously, that deadline has come and gone for the DROID Turbo 3, but there's still time for the carrier to announce the high-end smartphone so that it can be part of Verizon's portfolio for the holiday season.

Last but not least, the DROID Turbo 3 looks astonishing design-wise, so we hope that Motorola will bring the phone to other markets as well in some other form.

Until then, let's hope that these pictures are real and that Motorola will make the DROID Turbo 3 official sooner rather than later.
