The subscription war in the gaming industry is becoming more fierce as we approach the arrival of the next-generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft. The latter has decided to revive the Xbox All Access program, which offers gamers the option to pay a monthly fee for a brand new console and a library of games.

However, the improved Xbox All Access program includes the option to upgrade to Project Scarlett, the next-generation console coming from Microsoft in 2020. The program is only available in the United States, Australia, and the UK and costs $20 per month for 24 months (US pricing).

Those who decide to join Xbox All Access will receive the following benefits: Xbox One console, 24-month membership to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and option to upgrade to Project Scarlett once it's available in Holiday 2020.

Depending on where they live, players will be able to choose between different Xbox One models. For example, players in the US and UK can choose between Xbox One X, Xbox One S, or Xbox One S All-Digital Edition bundles.

On the other hand, players in Australia can select the Xbox One X Forza Horizon 4 bundle or the Xbox One S Forza Forza Horizon 4 bundle. As far as the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership goes, this will give players all the benefits of Xbox Live Gold, including online multiplayer, and access to more than 100 games on console and PC.

The Xbox All Access program will be available beginning on October 29 in Australia, November 5 in the UK and November 18 in the US through select partners and retailers. Players in Australia will have to visit Telstra stores to subscribe to Xbox All Access program or do it online. Elsewhere, those living in the US will be able to join the program in-store at GAME or in-person and online at Smyths Toys. Finally, US players will only be able to subscribe online from Amazon.

Players in the US and UK who purchase an Xbox One console using the program will have to option upgrade to Project Scarlett once it's available next year and they've made 18 payments. Customers in Australia can buyout their hardware at any time and upgrade to Project Scarlett when it launches in Holiday 2020.
