Windows 10 19H1 coming with more changes in this regard

The next version of Windows 10, which Microsoft refers to as 19H1 and supposed to land in the spring of 2019, will allow users to delete more apps that come pre-installed on the operating system.

The issue of bloatware on Windows 10 has been overly discussed and it’s been one of the things that users criticized the most after moving to this new OS.

Microsoft wants to improve the experience in this regard by giving users more control over inbox apps coming with Windows 10. This doesn’t necessarily mean that Candy Crush Saga would no longer come pre-installed, but that you’ll actually be allowed to remove some of Microsoft’s apps.

In the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, you can already uninstall apps like Weather, Tips, Skype, Print 3D, OneNote, My Office, and Microsoft Solitaire Collection, and the list will expand with the upcoming 19H1 update.

New apps you can remove

Microsoft says uninstall support will also be offered for 3D Viewer, Calculator, Calendar, Groove Music, Mail, Movies & TV, Paint 3D, Snip & Sketch, Sticky Notes, and Voice Recorder.

While I doubt that too many people would want to remove the Calculator, giving users more choices in this regard is clearly a good thing, and news in this regard is likely to be received well by the community.

By removing unnecessary apps, Windows 10 users can get a lighter operating system that fits their needs, especially if they don’t rely on these apps for their daily tasks. This change could come in handy especially in the enterprise where an app like Paint 3D may not necessarily make much sense.

Removing these apps will be possible straight from the Start menu by simply right-clicking them and hitting the Uninstall option.

The update is already available in preview stage, and insiders installing Windows 10 build 18262 can delete all the said apps from their systems.
