Microsoft has started investigating reports pointing to issues hitting one of the latest cumulative updates that it shipped to Windows 10 devices.

Windows 10 cumulative update KB4549951 was published as part of this month’s Patch Tuesday cycle, and it brings security fixes for the OS and the built-in components.

But more recently, users have come across various issues, including the infamous Blue Screen of Death that forced them to reboot their devices.

Microsoft says it’s aware of these reports, and explains that most often, users complain of Bluetooth, stop error with blue screen “and other related issues” in cumulative update KB4549951.

This update is aimed at both Windows 10 version 1903 and 1909, so the software giant is looking into the whole thing, trying to determine if there’s something wrong with the cumulative update.

Feedback needed

However, the company says it needs your help to make sure there’s something broken in this update, so it wants additional feedback from devices where it has already been installed.

“To date, we have not seen these issues reflected in telemetry, support data or customer feedback channels. We continuously investigate all customer feedback and are closely monitoring this situation. Note If you experience any issues we'd like to know. Please provide feedback using the keyboard shortcut Windows + F or go to the Start menu and select Feedback Hub so that we can investigate,” the company says.

If you’re not sure if the update is already installed on your device, you can easily tell if it is by simply checking the version number of Windows 10. To do this, type winver in the Start menu, and if the OS build number is 18363.778, then this latest cumulative update is already installed. If it’s lower than this, then your device isn’t up-to-date.
