Microsoft's getting ready to open the doors of its new flagship store in New York on October 26, which seems to be just the right moment to allow those who pay it a visit to try out the new devices that the company will be announcing next month.

The new store will open on Fifth Avenue and 53rd Street on Monday, October 26, at noon ET, while an additional store at Westfield Sydney on Pitt Street Mall will open on Thursday, Nov. 12, at noon AET.

Premier location to experience Windows 10 devices

Basically, the New York location is the best Microsoft could get for a flagship store, so it'll provide visitors with the best the company has to offer right now, including access to the newest devices, such as Lumia phones, Surface tablets, and the Band, but also the opportunity to try out Windows 10 on a number of PCs and get in touch with professional staff.

“We are eager to open our doors to those in Manhattan. The five-floor, 22,269 square foot location will be a premier venue to learn about, experience and shop for the products and services from Microsoft and our partners,” Microsoft has said in a statement today.

“Our store associate team comes from New York City’s distinct and diverse five boroughs as well as surrounding areas, and speak more than 19 languages.”

To celebrate the opening of these new stores in New York and Sydney, Microsoft will donate $5 million worth of software and technology grants to local organizations. Additionally, the big moment when the company cuts the ribbon will be followed by great opening festivities, which Microsoft promises to detail at a later time.

For those asking why October 26, the date is very special for Microsoft for two different reasons. First, it comes at the right moment to bring new Windows 10 devices to the market and benefit from the holiday season shopping frenzy, and second, it's exactly three years after the debut of Windows 8 (which Microsoft's now trying so hard to forget).
