Microsoft has made it a hobby to revamp retro accessories, and now the company is reportedly planning to launch a modern version of the Ergonomic Keyboard and Ergonomic Mouse.

A report from German site WinFuture indicates that the announcement will take place on October 2 during the hardware event where Microsoft will also introduce the new Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3.

By the looks of things, the new peripherals will be available in black, peach, and pastel blue, as compared to the original versions that were only offered in white.

However, both the mouse and the keyboard will come with new-generation tech, including USB connectivity instead of PS/2, as it was the case on the original versions.

According to the same report, Microsoft’s new Ergonomic Keyboard will be available for $59.99, while the mouse could be a little cheaper, possible close to $49.99.

More Surface announcements

By the looks of things, the October 2 event will be full of announcements, as Microsoft is apparently planning to take the wraps off several new products in many key areas.

In addition to Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3, Microsoft is also expected to unveil its all-new foldable Surface with a dual-screen configuration.

The device, which will pioneer a new form factor, runs a special version of Windows 10. By the looks of things, there’s a chance that Microsoft only announces the device on October 2, while actual sales would only begin next year. This means the company will probably offer a brief demo of this new Surface model, as the work on it is yet to be finalized.

Refreshes for other Surface models, including the Surface Go, could also be announced on October 2, albeit in this case the whole thing might only come down to upgrades under the hood.
