Microsoft has released a new update for the To Do app on iOS, adding support for widgets on devices running the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system.

Widgets are one of the biggest additions to the iOS 14 feature lineup, and since the last fall when the operating system went live, developers have been working on adding support for this new capability.

Microsoft itself has already released several widgets for its iOS apps, and this week the company has also updated the To Do app with similar capabilities.

There are three types of widgets available in the To Do app on iOS 14.

The first one is called Your Tasks, and it displays all tasks from a list that you can pick from the To Do app.

“The Your Tasks widget helps you select and view tasks from a list of your choice. The widget is available in two sizes: the medium widget shows a list of your tasks, while the large widget shows a list of your tasks along with due dates and other details. By default, the Your Tasks widget shows the Tasks list. To change the list it displays, long press on the widget and select Edit Widget, then select your list of choice,” Microsoft explains.

The second widget has been baptized My Day, and it shows the first task that you added to the My Day list. However, a more button is also displayed should you want to open the app and see the full list.

And last but not least, it’s the Add Task widget in the To Do app.

“The Add Task widget allows you to quickly add a task to a list of your choice without having to open the To Do app. To add a task, tap anywhere on the widget. To pick which list your task is added to, long press on the widget and select Edit Widget,” Microsoft says.

The widgets are live today in the latest version of the app.
