The device could be announced in the coming days

Microsoft hasn’t shared any news on the Surface Laptop Go 2, but as it turns out, the device could see the daylight in the coming days.

This is because a Korean retailer has already spilled the beans on the new model, though at first glance, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be a massive upgrade.

If anything, the Surface Laptop Go 2, which starts at $549, isn’t necessarily supposed to be a high-end product but rather an affordable way to experience the magic of the Surface Laptop. Coming with a traditional form factor, the Surface Laptop is one of Microsoft’s most premium devices, so launching a Go-branded model made sense for both the software giant and its customers.

Now it looks like Microsoft is getting ready to debut the second-generation Surface Laptop Go 2, and the Korean retailer claims the device will come with up to 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor. The base storage option will be upgraded to 12GB.

To launch in June

Without a doubt, the Surface Laptop Go 2 is going to be a rather modest upgrade, and this is the reason the software giant will announce it with a press release and nothing more.

The Surface Laptop Go 2 will undoubtedly go live with Windows 11 pre-loaded, and thanks to heavy optimizations, it should offer more than 13 hours per charge.

At this point, it’s important to take everything with a healthy pinch of salt, but there’s no doubt all of these just make sense, especially because this device isn’t supposed to be a flagship by any means.

Microsoft just wants to refresh its more affordable Surface lineup with new-generation hardware, so expect an announcement to go live any day now. Most likely, customers in the largest markets, including the U.S., will be allowed to purchase the new laptop in June.
