Company to bring it to more buyers at later time

Microsoft’s Surface Headphones are without a doubt an advanced piece of technology that took everyone by surprise at the company’s October 2 event, and while excitement over their launch is huge, many wannabe customers may end up disappointed.

As it turns out, the Surface Headphones would only go on sale in two different countries, namely the United States and the United Kingdom, with Microsoft planning to make it available in other markets at a later time.

When this is going to happen remains to be determined, but for now, the Surface Headphones are likely to be hit by very limited availability that could also impact their sales.

At $349.99, the headphones aren’t likely to sell in super high volumes, but judging from the initial feedback from customers worldwide, demand may be substantial in some specific markets besides the two mentioned above.

Pre-order program kicking off this week

The headphones will go up on pre-order this week on the 15th, while Microsoft will begin shipping them to the first customers on November 19.

There’s a good chance, however, that supply will be pretty limited, so make sure you rush to pre-order your unit as early as possible after the device becomes available. Microsoft hasn’t said anything about the available inventory, but if the demand exceeds the initial stock, waiting times are likely to increase significantly.

The limited availability of the Surface Headphones isn’t very surprising. The device comes with Cortana built-in, so it has to be available only in the countries where the digital assistant is also supported. Of course, there are other markets that would align with this requirement, including large markets like Germany and India, but for now, there are no plans to launch the Surface Headphones here.

We’ll continue to monitor the available stock of the Surface Headphones after the device goes on sale, so come back to Softpedia in the coming days to see how waiting times increase.
