Microsoft is expected to launch the Surface Duo in Europe in the first months of this year, and while no other specifics have been provided, it’s believed the unveiling is imminent now.

French retailer Darty has listed two different versions of the Surface Duo, along with the original bumper, though right now, it looks like the product is yet to go live on the official website.

But according to a post on reddit, in addition to suggesting that the launch of the Surface Duo in Europe is just around the corner, this listing also indicates an 8GB RAM version is coming too.

The French retailer indicates the Old Continent would get the following two versions of Microsoft Surface Duo:

  • Microsoft Surface Duo with 6GB RAM and 128 GB storage at 1549,99 Euros
  • Microsoft Surface Duo with 8GB RAM and 256 GB storage at 1649,99 Euros

Needless to say, Microsoft offering 8GB RAM on the Surface Duo is something rather unexpected, though, at some level, it actually makes sense, especially because so many people criticized the company for launching a device with outdated specs.

The Surface Duo international launch

Microsoft confirmed the Surface Duo would go live in more international markets last year, but no further specifics were provided at that time.

“Since introducing Surface Duo in August 2020, people have asked when we would make this product available outside of the US. We’re pleased to share that in early 2021, we’ll be offering Surface Duo in Canada, United Kingdom, France and Germany. We’re excited to share more information at the beginning of 2021, so stay tuned for more,” the company said.

For now, no additional information has been shared, so fingers crossed for the Duo launch here in Europe to be just around the corner.
