Latest app update brings support for the biggest iPhone

Like the rest of software developers out there, Microsoft is now working on updating its mobile apps for iOS to take full advantage of the increased screen estate of the iPhone XS Max.

And after rolling out updates for the Outlook app on iOS, optimizing the email client for the larger iPhone XS Max, Microsoft keeps releasing the same improvements for other apps.

Today, it’s the turn of OneDrive, the company’s own client providing access to files stored in the cloud, so users who have recently purchased an iPhone XS Max and want to make the most of the bigger screen should update the app as soon as possible.

The OneDrive version that’s ready for iPhone XS Max is 10.39.8, and users can get it right now from the App Store.

Previous releases

The previous release brought back support for beta builds through TestFlight, allowing users to try out new features in advance before they are released to production versions. Microsoft explains:

“TestFlight comes (back) to OneDrive: Try out the latest and greatest OneDrive features before they're released to the world. To join, navigate to your settings, and tap "Join the OneDrive for iOS TestFlight". Pro tip - to send feedback that will pop up in the team's inbox, open your TestFlight app, and press "Send Beta Feedback". We also like funny animal GIFs,” Microsoft says.

iPhone XS Max comes with a 6.5-inch notched OLED display, boasting a look that’s similar to the one of the iPhone XS, which in turn is an iPhone X lookalike. The device, however, requires further app updates to correctly render all graphics on its bigger screens, and developers are now hard at work to get this done as the adoption of the device increases.

If you’ve purchased an iPhone XS Max, we recommend you to update your apps as soon as new versions are released, as most of the updates bring full support for your larger iPhone’s resolution.
