Redmond stops selling Cosco’s Surface Go configuration

Surface Go continues to be Microsoft’s smallest and cheapest Surface on sale, but the company is making some silent changes that many customers might not like.

Back in 2018 when the software giant launched the Surface Go, the lineup included just two different models, as it follows: a base configuration with 4GB RAM and 64GB eMMC storage and an upgraded version with 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD storage.

A third configuration showed up at Cosco with a configuration that was placed somewhere in between the two, boasting 4GB RAM but 128GB SSD storage.

After leaving Costco to sell this model exclusively for a few weeks, Microsoft brought it to its own stores in an attempt to expand its lineup and provide customers with more choices.

The addition to the Surface Go series, however, took place without any official announcement, so potential buyers could have only noticed the new model when checking out the available configuration on the official website.

One down, three still on sale

And now another silent change is happening, as Microsoft pulled this Costco-exclusive Surface Go version from its stores, sticking once again with the original models.

There are three versions of the Surface Go that Microsoft is selling right now:

Surface Go with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, Wi-Fi
Surface Go with 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, Wi-Fi
Surface Go with 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, LTE
Pricing starts at $399 for the base configuration and reaches $679 when choosing the model that features LTE support.

What’s important to know is that the Surface Go Signature Type Cover and the Surface Pen (which you definitely need to unleash the full power of the device) are only sold separately, so you’ll have to spend extra for the full package. The Surface Go Signature Type Cover is available for $129.99, whereas the Surface Pen costs $99.99.
