Microsoft has released a new theme for Windows 10 devices, and this time users are provided with a collection of ten 4K wallpapers that they can configure as desktop backgrounds.

Called Windows Throwback, the theme comes only a few days after Microsoft launched Windows 1.11, an interactive trailer for the latest season of Stranger Things and which the software giant used to promote the Netflix show.

This new theme can be downloaded free of charge from the Microsoft Store, and it can also be installed on Windows 10 in S Mode, the Windows 10 version where Win32 programs are blocked and therefore only Store apps are allowed.

“Take your PC back to 1985 with this tubular special-edition theme, inspired by the first year of Windows. Old-school meets new-school in these 10 totally bodacious, premium 4k images, free for Microsoft Themes. These images are to be used as desktop wallpaper only,” Microsoft says in the description of the theme public in the Microsoft Store.

Stranger Things theme also available

As part of its effort to promote the third season of Stranger Things, the company has also launched a second theme for Windows 10 that includes wallpapers inspired from the TV series.

This theme is baptized Stranger Things 3 and also includes 10 4K wallpapers for Windows 10 devices.

“Bring the strange summer of 1985 right to your desktop with the Stranger Things wallpaper theme-pack. These 10 4K images are free for Windows 10 and are to be used as desktop wallpaper only. Watch the new season of Stranger Things available on Netflix,” the description of the team notes.

You can download both themes using the links above, and then you can enable them on your device by heading over to the Settings app > Personalization > Themes > Apply a theme.
