Microsoft has recently released an out-of-band update for Windows 11 version 22H2, as the company tries to address the installation media errors some users are experiencing.

Windows 11 update KB5019311 is therefore available for download right now, with Microsoft explaining that it comes to correct glitches that could prevent the creation of installation media for the 2022 Update.

“Addresses localization issues for some setup files. These issues might stop you from creating installation media for non-English languages,” the company says.

Once installed, this update pushes the OS build number to 22621.525.

Windows 11 2022 Update now rolling out

The rollout of Windows 11 2022 Update started only a few days ago, and Microsoft explains that users of eligible devices can manually check for updates in Windows Update to begin the download of the new operating system update.

The company is using a phased rollout in order to make sure it detects bugs in an early stage and then enables safeguard holds to prevent them from hitting more devices.

“The first major update to Windows 11 is now available for users who want to update. Our launch approach to Windows 11 leverages our well-established update systems and processes,” Microsoft explained last week when it announced the new operating system update.

“The measured and phased rollout will offer the update via Windows Update when data shows that your device is ready, as our objective is to provide a quality update experience. We will initially ramp up the offering availability in the first weeks as we monitor quality signals. If we detect that your device may have an issue, such as an application incompatibility, we may put a safeguard hold in place and not offer the update until that issue is resolved,” the company continued, recommending users to not try to skip the safeguard holds.
