New build published for users in Skip Ahead ring

Microsoft has rolled out a new Windows 10 preview build for users in the Skip Ahead ring nearly three weeks after the previous release.

Windows 10 build 18234 is an early testing version of the upcoming Redstone 6 update projected to be shipped in the spring of 2019. It is currently available as part of the Windows Insider program.

Build 18234 comes with only a bunch of new features, but this makes perfect sense given that work on this update is only now gaining traction.

More improvements are expected to make their way to insiders once Microsoft releases the Windows 10 October 2018 Update update next month.

What’s new in this build?

First off, Microsoft To-Do is being refined with ink support, so after updating to version 1.39.1808.31001, you should be able to take notes and add new tasks more naturally with a stylus.

Additionally, this new build also introduces Sticky Notes 3.0, an update that was announced by Microsoft last week and which makes it takes to create and save notes right on your desktop.

And last but not least, build 18234 introduces new tweaks for Snip & Sketch, Microsoft’s replacement for the Snipping Tool currently bundled into stable builds of Windows 10.

A delay snip has been added to the app, and you can try it out after updating to version 10.1807.2286.0.

“There was a bug in Build 18219 blocking the New button from working, so please try it out today once you upgrade! Just click the chevron next to the New button in the app and you’ll now find options to “Snip now”, “Snip in 3 seconds”, and “Snip in 10 seconds”. If you have the app open or pinned to your taskbar, you can also just right click the icon in the taskbar to get these options, since we’ve added them to the jump list,” Microsoft explains.

There are also several other improvements and known issues, and you can check them out in full in the box after the jump.
