Microsoft has just released new cumulative updates for Windows 10 operating system as part of the company’s June 2018 Patch Tuesday rollout.

This month’s cumulative updates are the following: KB4284835 (Windows 10 April 2018 Update), KB4284819 (Windows 10 Fall Creators Update), and KB4284874 (Windows 10 Creators Update).

While all versions of Windows 10 are getting cumulative updates, it’s important to know that only the Creators Update and newer are still supported.

This means that if you’re still running the Anniversary Update, for instance, updates are only offered to your system if it’s enrolled in the LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) for enterprises. Otherwise, you need to switch to a newer Windows 10 version, like the April 2018 Update, to get new cumulative updates on Home and Pro SKUs.

Since these cumulative updates land on Patch Tuesday, they bring both security and non-security improvements. We’re going to detail each update in separate articles and follow-up stories will be posted at the end of this article to read more information.

New April 2018 Update cumulative update

Of particular importance this month is the April 2018 Update release. As you might know, Windows 10 April 2018 Update has proved to be rather buggy, with plenty of users complaining of glitches after upgrading their computers to this OS version.

Microsoft has been rather slow when it comes to delivering fixes, and this new cumulative update for the April 2018 Update could refine performance and address some of the issues reported by users.

While the changelog doesn’t specifically mention bugfixes for some of the glitches that made the rounds lately, this month’s cumulative update is expected to include several unnamed fixes as well, so it remains to be seen what’s been resolved with this release.

We’re not aware of any failed installs so far, but we’ll be keeping an eye on reports and let you know if such issues are being experienced. We’re now updating our systems here at Softpedia and everything seems to be running smoothly so far. Check back for further updates.
