New update available for users in the Slow ring

Microsoft has just released a new update for Windows insiders in the Slow ring, as the company continues the work on refinements ahead of Windows 10 19H1 RTM.

Beginning today, Windows insiders can download KB4494195 if they are enrolled in the Slow ring, and installing this update brings the OS build number to 18351.26.

Just like the previous two updates shipped to insiders in this ring, KB4494195 comes with only a single fix, so no major changes are included. Dona Sarkar, chief of the Windows Insider program, explains the following in an announcement today:

“Hello Windows Insiders, we have released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18351.26 (19H1) to Windows Insiders in the Slow ring. Build 18351.26 (KB4494195) includes only a small change to how we package these Cumulative Updates for Windows 10 customers. Thank you for helping us test out our servicing pipeline!”

The road to Windows 10 19H1 RTM

This build isn’t yet available for any other rings in the Windows Insider program, and it’s the third of its kind that can be downloaded as part of the Slow ring.

As I said before, all these improvements available exclusively for users in the Slow ring make many think about the RTM build, especially as Windows 10 19H1 is projected to be finalized this month.

According to Microsoft’s schedule, Windows 10 19H1 RTM is scheduled to be signed off before the end of March, while the public rollout to production devices should kick off in April. The release will take place in stages, as Microsoft wants to discover bugs early and prevent them from reaching more devices.

Microsoft hasn’t yet confirmed whether Windows 10 19H1 RTM is ready or not, but expect more news in this regard to be shared in the coming days.
