This update is shipped to systems running Creators Update

Microsoft has released a new cumulative update for systems running Windows 10 Creators Update with the focus on non-security improvements.

Security fixes for Windows 10 typically land on Patch Tuesday, and after previously shipping KB4103731 update earlier this month, Microsoft is now delivering cumulative update KB4103722 to Windows 10 Creators Update computers.

The changelog is pretty huge and you can check it in full in the box after the jump. What’s worth knowing, however, is that it finally fixes Bluetooth issues causing connection status problems on some systems, while also bringing Internet Explorer refinements resolving glitches that prevented the browser from working correctly on dual-monitor configurations.

There are several improvements specifically aimed at enterprises, and Microsoft explains that one of them addresses authentication attempts to WLAN access points.

“Addresses an issue where Windows 10 clients that authenticate to 802.1x WLAN access points fail to apply Group Policy permissions, run scripts, or retrieve roaming profiles at user logon. This occurs because Kerberos authentication fails for \domain\sysvol, \domain\netlogon, and other DFS paths,” the company explains.

No patch for Windows 10 April 2018 Update

There are no known issues in this cumulative update, so from Microsoft’s perspective, everything should run pretty smoothly and install correctly on all devices. But as we learned the hard way, cumulative updates often tend to fail, eventually leading to additional problems like broken network connectivity.

What’s also worth noting is that Microsoft hasn’t released a new cumulative update for systems running the newly-released Windows 10 April 2018 Update. Also known as version 1803, this update is the most recent Windows 10 update and is currently shipped to devices via Windows Update in stages.

The number of bugs reported in the April Update is growing every day, and Microsoft has so far been rather slow when it comes to addressing these problems. The next Patch Tuesday takes place on June 12, and further fixes for April update could land at that point.
