New build now available for insiders in the Fast ring

Microsoft has released the second preview build of the week for Windows Insiders in the Fast ring, as the company keeps pushing harder and harder for Windows 10 April 2020 Update (20H1).

This time, the new build is all about a single fix, as its predecessor broke down the Your Phone app.

So what Windows 10 build 18895 is supposed to do is resolve this behavior, restoring the Your Phone app and letting users connect their smartphones to their PCs.

What’s also very important to know is that while this build is aimed at users in the Fast ring, it won’t actually be released for a number of editions, as it follows:

Windows 10 Home N x64 in HU-HU and PT-PT. Windows 10 Home x64 in CS-CZ, ES-ES, and KO-KR. Windows 10 Professional x64 in LV-LV and ES-MX.

Same known issues

This new build comes with the same known issues as the previous release, and I think the most important continues to be the one causing devices to hit a fatal crash when launching games with certain (and undisclosed) anti-cheat software. The same bug also exists in the Windows 10 May 2019 Update (version 1903/19H1) projected to launch for production devices later this month.

“We are working with partners on getting their software updated with a fix, and most games have released patches to prevent PCs from experiencing this issue,” Microsoft says.

“To minimize the chance of running into this issue, please make sure you are running the latest version of your games before attempting to update the operating system. We are also working with anti-cheat and game developers to resolve similar issues that may arise with the 20H1 Insider Preview builds and will work to minimize the likelihood of these issues in the future.”
