Microsoft has released the July 2018 Microsoft Office update for Android devices, bumping build number to 16.0.10325.20043 and delivering new improvements for the included productivity apps.

With this new release, Microsoft Word is getting refinements for the word count, as information is now displayed when you scroll as well. This means that the word count is visible all the time in your document, and the bar is no longer hidden when scrolling.

Microsoft Outlook is being updated with a feature that Microsoft claims was highly requested by Android users. Deleting contacts in Outlook for Android is finally possible, and it can be done easily from the page of every contact in the app.

Then, Outlook receives a do not disturb option that makes it possible to block all notifications during meetings.

“Limit distractions and focus on what matters. For example, turn off email notifications when you're attending a meeting so that you can devote your full attention to the information being share and to the discussion,” Microsoft explains.

And last but not least, Microsoft has also rolled out an update for Microsoft PowerPoint. With this new version, users are allowed to edit slides in landscape mode, a feature that certainly comes in handy on devices with bigger screens or with 18.5:9 aspect ratio displays like the Samsung Galaxy S9.

These features are available right now for Office 365 subscribers and have previously been tested as part of the Office Insider program.

Microsoft Office apps are among Redmond’s most popular offerings on Android, with millions of downloads and reviews posted on the Google Play Store. The Insider program also helps the company deliver further updates based on user feedback, and anyone can join the program to try out new features in advance using this link.
