Microsoft has released the November 2019 firmware updates for two Surface models, including the recently-announced Surface Pro X.

Surface Pro X is Microsoft’s ARM-based Surface model, and it runs Windows 10 on ARM, the operating system that’s also installed on a few other devices from Microsoft partners.

With the November 22 firmware update, Surface Pro X receives plenty of improvements, including bugfixes for the SQ1 Adreno 685 GPU. Microsoft says this release addresses a bug breaking down the connection of an external monitor via USB-C.

Additionally, there are also improvements for Surface Pro X integration, with driver version 20.67.139.0 optimizing storage dump space utilization.

The firmware update brings a bunch of optimizations or the pen, enhancing the charging performance, but also the battery life.

Microsoft claims this new update improves the Wi-Fi speed too thanks to a Qualcomm Wi-Fi driver update, as well as the system stability resuming experience from hibernate.

In the case of the Surface Laptop 3, there are improvements for both Intel and AMD models.

First and foremost, the Surface Laptop 3 with the Intel processor is being updated with better Cortana speech experience, integration between system services, and audio system services. There’s also enhanced system stability and driver installation servicing.

As for the AMD version, there are updates for the AMD Radeon Vega display adapter, but also for Bluetooth stability, and audio performance.

In order to download and install these updates, you need to be running at least Windows 10 version 1903, or May 2019 Update. The update can be downloaded from Windows Update, and make sure that you fully charge your device or keep it plugged in during the entire process.

There are no known issues in the new firmware updates for the time being.
