Microsoft keeps improving the Surface companion app, and this week, the company has released another update with several welcome improvements.

As spotted by Neowin, the new version of the app is 61.7096.139.0, and it comes with several new features on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

More specifically, Microsoft has added map support in the Find My device feature, so in theory, it should now be much easier to find a lost device.

At the same time, the update also includes deep links in the Surface app to point to support KB articles, so if you’re trying to read more information on a specific change, this should also be more convenient straight from the app itself.

The updated version comes with images for color accessors, including Type Cover and pens, while also allowing users to set the default Pen click app in the Pen FRE.

The Surface app is a must-have companion app for every Surface customer, as it offers easy access not only to essential information about the device but also to settings that help them better take full advantage of the devices they purchased.

The Surface app also offers access to warranty information, while also letting customers purchase extended hardware and accidental damage coverage.

“Get the most out of your Surface. The Surface app provides you with customization options and opportunity to learn more about your Surface device. Give feedback on your experience so we can keep making it better. Safety, warranty, and regulatory info is there whenever you need it,” Microsoft explains.

As said, the application runs on both Windows 10 and Windows 11, and it obviously supports all Surface devices released so far, including not only the PCs – such as Surface Laptop Studio, Surface Book and so on – but also accessories like the Surface Slim Pen and the Surface Headphones.
