Microsoft continues the fight against Google in the cloud productivity suite business, and today the company rolled out a set of manuals supposed to make the transition to Office 365 smoother.

Specifically, Microsoft's new guides are aimed at Google G suite customers who are considering a possible migration to Office 365, with the company trying to help companies determine the benefits of its own productivity suite.

The documents provide essential information on the existing apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Mail, OneDrive, and Outlook People and Calendar, with more such manuals to be released soon.

"Are you or your company switching to Microsoft Office 365? We have your go-to guides to help you get up and running in Office 365 with minimum disruption. We have 8 published today for Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive, with more on the way," the company announced today.

Microsoft's Office 365 growth

Microsoft's cloud-based Office productivity suite is growing at a very fast pace, and the most recent earnings report from the company revealed that at the end of January there were 24.9 million total subscribers to Office 365. This division alone generated $7.4 billion, up no less than 10 percent from the previous quarter.

As far as the commercial division of Office 365 goes, which is the one that Microsoft is specifically trying to improve with these guides, revenue in this particular unit improved by no less than 47 percent the last quarter, with the company expected to continue the growth in the next quarters as well.

Microsoft's Office 365 has a total of 85 million monthly active users, according to figures provided by the software giant itself, and if the same growing trend is maintained, the company has big chances to surpass the 100 million milestone as soon as this year. Previous forecasts estimated that 100 million users would be reached by the end of 2017, but given the fast pace, there's a good chance that the next earnings report brings a surprise in this regard.
