New build now up for grabs on Windows 10 devices

Microsoft has released another Dev build of the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser for Windows 10.

This time, the focus is mostly on bug fixes, so you won’t be getting any new features after installing Microsoft Edge Dev build 76.0.176.1.

The only noticeable change is the increased height of the rows in the address bar dropdown, but it goes without saying that many may not even spot the change in the new version.

On the other hand, the changelog includes several important fixes, and you can check out the full release notes in the box after the jump.

One of them resolves a bug causing the Microsoft Edge browser window to turn black or go blank when watching a video, an issue that obviously made watching YouTube clips quite a painful experience. Then, this release also addressed a glitch that caused some websites to hang during loading, as well as the broken first-run experience that sometime didn’t render properly.

Updates released at a much faster pace than anticipated

The Chromium-based Microsoft Edge is currently available on Windows 10 as part of two different branches, namely Canary and Dev.

While the Canary builds are updated every day, the Dev channel is supposed to receive further tweaks once a week, albeit Microsoft was in a rush this time to update this version.

“Although it’s only been a short time since the last update to the Dev Channel, we still have some fixes and improvements that are notable enough to mention,” Microsoft’s David Rubino explains.

Needless to say, updates are more than welcome given that Microsoft Edge remains a work-in-progress, and users are obviously recommended to update to the latest build as soon as possible to get all these fixes and new features.
