Microsoft has just announced a new Windows Feature Experience Pack specifically aimed at insiders running Windows 10 version 21H1 preview builds.

In other words, the new Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3740.0 is available today for Beta and Release Preview channels in the Windows Insider, though very important to know is that it’ll be offered as an optional update.

Furthermore, the update won’t be offered to commercial devices in the Release Preview channel.

As for what’s new in this Windows Feature Experience Pack, Microsoft only a small fix is included. More specifically, the company “removed nonfunctional hyperlinks from being displayed in the Input Method Editor (IME) candidate window.”

Windows 10 version 21H1 just around the corner

Microsoft is getting ready to finalize Windows 10 version 21H1 and push it to the first waves of devices as soon as the next month. This new release will land in the form of a quality update, so it won’t include any big changes, with the RTM to be signed off in the coming weeks.

Microsoft too confirmed that the focus would only be on smaller changes under the hood this time, all based on user feedback, it seems.

“Windows 10, version 21H1 will have a scoped set of features improving security, remote access and quality. The features we are releasing in this update are focused on the core experiences that customers have told us they’re relying on most right now. So, we optimized this release to support our customers’ most pressing needs,” Microsoft explained, revealing that version 21H1 will include Windows Hello multicamera support, WDAG improvements, and other enterprise-related updates.

According to Microsoft’s release calendar, version 21H1 should be finalized and released for the first waves of production devices by the end of the next month.
