Microsoft has just released a new version of Outlook for iOS, and this time the focus isn’t on the iPhone, but on the Apple Watch.

The updated Outlook for iOS introduces a refined design for notifications on the Apple Watch, making the information overall easier to read. The subject line and calendar appointment details are now displayed right within the notification.

Michael Palermiti, head of Outlook for iOS, announced the update on Twitter, explaining that the email and calendar reminders notifications are “completely redesigned.”

With this update, Microsoft Outlook reaches version 3.24.0 on iOS, users can download it right away from the App Store.

“Stay calm, cool and collected with our improved Apple Watch notifications. See important emails, reminders and know where your next meeting is at a glance,” the changelog reads.

Apple Watch improvements

Microsoft has been working hard on refining the experience with Outlook for iOS on the Apple Watch, and the latest updates brought several improvements in this regard.

For example, the company has recently adding new Apple Watch Series 4 complications in Outlook for iOS, a feature that makes it easier to see calendar entries and new emails right on the watch. This feature was introduced earlier this month in version 3.22.1.

Outlook for iOS is already one of Microsoft’s most successful apps for iPhone and iPad, and needless to say, these frequent updates play a key role in attracting more users.

The app requires iOS 11 or later and is based on the original client developed by Accompli, which Microsoft acquired before renaming the app to Outlook. Of course, Outlook is also offered to users on Android, with frequent updates released there too. However, the popularity of the Apple Watch means Microsoft can focus on a wider array of improvements that aren’t necessarily limited to the smartphone itself.
