Microsoft has released a new Office insider build to users on iOS, and this update includes plenty of goodies for the productivity suite, all supposed to go live for everybody at some point in the coming weeks.

First and foremost, the new Office for iOS build is 2.49 (21042504), and it includes a new PowerPoint option that allows users to select multiple slides at once by simply long-pressing on any slide.

In addition, Office Mobile is also being updated with an improved Shared view that lets users see the content shared with them in Outlook and Microsoft Teams.

New options to merge PDF documents

Microsoft Office now also allows users to merge multiple PDFs into a single document, no matter if they are stored locally or in the cloud. So in theory, if you want to have more than a single PDF into just one document, this new feature allows you to do this with just a few taps, all by simply launching the Merge PDF option from the Actions menu.

And last but not least, Microsoft is introducing a new Read mode in Microsoft Office that lets users see documents without making any edits.

“As you read and scroll through a file, it can be easy to turn on editing capabilities without meaning to. In order to protect you and your documents from unwanted edits, we are making Read mode the default mode when opening files in Office Mobile on your iPhone or iPad. To edit your file, click the Pencil icon at the bottom of the screen or double tap the document,” the company explains.

Keep in mind this is just a preview for now, so some features may not work exactly as expected, and this is the reason early builds shouldn’t be installed on production devices.
