Microsoft has released a new Microsoft Office update for Apple users that brings lots of improvements on macOS, including a dark theme for devices running Mojave.

The dark mode aligns with the new visual style in the operating system, and it is available for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as explained by Microsoft. Obviously, you’re going to need macOS Mojave to see the new dark theme in Microsoft Office.

The same update for Office 365, which brings the productivity suite to version 16.20.18120801, includes new proofreading tools in PowerPoint, including an option to detect frequently confused words and mark grammar errors as you type.

Continuity Camera support

One more exciting improvement for those committed to the Apple ecosystem is the addition of support for Apple Continuity Camera.

This particular feature makes it possible for users to take photos with their iPhones and embed them directly in their documents, all with a simple drag and drop. And beginning with this update, users can do this for PowerPoint presentations.

Outlook users are also getting some improvements following this update, including disabling forwarding support for the contacts that receive your meeting invite. Also, you can now click any meeting or event in the calendar and see who confirmed they would be there.

All these features have previously been tested as part of the Office Insider program, and starting with this update, they arrive on production devices too. They are all available for Office 365 subscribers who update to the latest version of the application.

Microsoft has also released an update for Apple users who own an iPad Pro, as the Office suite is now fully supported for the new models launched by the company earlier this year. The update Office version can be downloaded on the iPad Pro from the App Store.
