The rollout advances, reaching more computers

Microsoft has just announced that the rollout of Windows 11 is making good progress, and based on the feedback it received, the company can expand it to more computers.

In other words, if your device is eligible for the upgrade to Windows 11 but hasn’t yet received the new OS, it could theoretically be offered the new OS as part of this new wave.

Microsoft explained in an announcement that the update experience has been very positive so far, and this allows it to ship Windows 11 to more eligible computers.

“I have often previously noted that being on the latest version of Windows provides you with the latest features, security improvements and control. We recommend that you update your devices to the latest version of Windows 10 or upgrade eligible devices to Windows 11. Today, based on the positive rollout update experience and user feedback we have seen to date, we are advancing the pace of the rollout faster than we previously anticipated, and are now making the Windows 11 upgrade more broadly available to eligible Windows 10 devices,” John Cable, Vice President, Program Management, Windows Servicing and Delivery, said.

Broad availability in mid-2022

Microsoft has already announced that Windows 11 is projected to reach broad availability in the summer of 2022.

In other words, the company plans to complete the rollout by mid-2022, so in theory, more devices should receive the operating system in the first months of the next year.

In the meantime, there are other ways to get Windows 11 on your eligible device, though the company strongly recommends against them. This is because some methods could allow you to bypass certain upgrade blocks, and this would eventually mean you end up struggling with various bugs that affect the experience with Windows 11 on your computer.
