This update is aimed at Fast ring insiders

Microsoft has released cumulative updates not only for the stable versions of Windows 10, but also for its preview builds, as the company continues to work on the next major update for the OS.

KB4470200 is thus specifically aimed at systems that have already been updated to Windows 10 19H1 preview builds, and it increases the OS build number to 18277.1006.

In most of the cases, cumulative updates are supposed to bring fixes and improvements to the Windows experience, but this time, Microsoft is also making a change that blocks certain systems from receiving the latest preview build 18277.

This particular build was originally published for Fast ring insiders on November 7, and with today’s cumulative update, several computers are blocked from getting it due to issues that may be experienced after the upgrade.

“We’re putting an update block for this build in place for a small number of PCs that use Nuvoton (NTC) TPM chips with a specific firmware version (1.3.0.1) due to a bug causing issues with Windows Hello face/biometric/pin login not working,” Microsoft explains.

Just one bug fix

There is also one fix in this cumulative update, so KB4470200 resolves a media display bug that was causing display rendering glitches on some configurations.

Other than that, you won’t get anything else in this cumulative update, but if you’re a Windows insider, you’re obviously strongly recommended to download it as soon as possible. It’s available from Windows Update and it installs with no issues.

Windows 10 19H1 is projected to be finalized and released to users in the spring of 2019. As per Microsoft’s typical schedule, the RTM should be signed off in March before being shipped to Windows insiders later the same month. The public rollout should kick off in April.

Several other builds will be published in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more improvements coming to Windows 10 19H1.
