The new version is now available for stable devices

Microsoft has recently released a new stable version of its Android launcher after previously releasing the beta build to testers in November.

Microsoft Launcher has grown a lot in popularity in 2019, and the updates that Microsoft released added several new features and further polished the experience with the app on the majority of devices.

On the other hand, the latest few updates for Microsoft Launcher have been rather modest and didn’t bring too many changes, instead focusing on under-the-good refinements and small touches here and there.

This is the case of the latest stable update as well, which right now is version 5.11.

Microsoft Launcher 5.11 comes with improvements for folders and app drawers, and Microsoft says both are now more consistent with the launcher theme.

New beta expected any day now

Then, the software giant has added a dedicated option to hide new apps in the app drawer. This is without a doubt a welcome addition, albeit it’s not something really breaking for an Android launcher. But going forward, this option is clearly needed, especially on devices where new apps are installed regularly.

And of course, this release includes general bug fixes and performance improvements, so overall, the launcher should feel a bit more polished regardless of the device that you use.

Other than that, Microsoft Launcher 5.11 feels pretty much just like its predecessors, but I still recommend everyone to update to this latest version as soon as possible. This is because in addition to the changes mentioned above, the under-the-hood improvements also include bug fixes and other optimizations that should make the app feel smoother overall.

You can, of course, download Microsoft Launcher for Android from Softpedia. A new beta build should go live in the coming days and hopefully, it’ll bring more important changes to the table.
