Ninja Cat emoji shows up when opening too many tabs

Microsoft Edge is evolving on Android, and while Microsoft continues working on new features, the software giant also has time to build little surprises secretly bundled into the app.

The latest beta version of the browser, for example, displays a Ninja Cat Emoji in the navigation bar when you open more than 100 tabs.

By default, Edge comes with a small icon in the bar to show how many tabs are running in one browsing instance. But when this number exceeds 100, the icon turns into a Ninja Cat emoji to let you know that you already have way too many tabs open.

As Vishnu Nath, Head of Program Management at Microsoft, explains, this is an “Easter egg if you have a ton of open tabs.” It’s available only in the last beta and there are no specifics as to whether Microsoft wants to bring it to the stable versions as well.

Edge browser on Android

Microsoft Edge is regularly getting updates on Android, and right now the most recent releases are 42.0.0.2314 stable and 42.0.0.2222 beta. You can download both from Softpedia right now.

One of the biggest benefits of using Microsoft Edge on Android is that it keeps you in sync with your browsing activity on a Windows 10 PC.

The application can not only sync data like bookmarks, but it also integrates Continue on PC, a feature that allows you to start browsing on one device and continue from where you left off on another.

Needless to say, Microsoft Edge will continue to evolve on all supported browsers, and on Windows 10 specifically, it’s projected to receive a major update with the release of the October 2018 Update next month. This update is currently available for insiders exclusively, and is due to be finalized as soon as this week.
