As the company makes the switch to other platforms

Microsoft has been using UserVoice for quite a while now to collect feedback on its products, but the company is now believed to be looking elsewhere for this purpose.

In other words, there’s a chance Microsoft is killing off its UserVoice pages, possibly in an attempt to make the switch to its very own feedback platform.

As per a report, Microsoft has already given up on some UserVoice communities, and an attempt to load them provides users with an error reading “This site is not currently active” or “This UserVoice instance does not exist.”

Oddly enough, not all Microsoft UserVoice pages are currently down, as the Microsoft Teams group still seems to be working.

“Thanks for visiting the Microsoft Teams user feedback site! We regularly reviews your ideas to consider in the design and development of future product updates. To make your voice heard, be sure to vote on existing ideas and/or submit a new idea. While we can’t guarantee any specific features or timelines, we promise to read and consider all suggestions. We may also merge and rename suggestions for clarity,” this UserVoice page reads.

“We have partnered with UserVoice, a third-party service and your use of the portal and your submission is subject to the UserVoice Terms of Service & Privacy Policy, including the license terms. Please do not send any novel or patentable ideas, copyrighted materials, samples or demos for which you do not want to grant a license to Microsoft.”

No word from Microsoft just yet

If Microsoft is indeed planning to give up on UserVoice, the whole thing might be happening gradually, though, for the time being, there’s no confirmation from the company in this regard.

At some level, Microsoft waving goodbye to UserVoice pretty much makes sense, especially because this is a third-party product and the company has already launched other feedback channels, such as the Feedback Hub on Windows 10.

We have reached out to Microsoft for more information and will post a follow-up if we hear back.
