14 DAY TRIAL // One of the most important additions to the Windows 11 feature arsenal is Microsoft Teams integration right into the taskbar, therefore making it a lot easier for users to chat with their contacts.
And while the first Windows 11 preview build is now available for Windows Insiders, worth knowing is this feature isn’t yet ready for testers, as Microsoft says it needs a little bit more time to release it as part of the Insider program.
The Redmond-based software giant promises to add the chat integration in the Windows 11 taskbar in the coming months, and needless to say, the feature will be there when the operating system launches in the fall of the year.
“With Windows 11, we’re excited to introduce Chat from Microsoft Teams integrated in the taskbar. Now you can instantly connect through text, chat, voice or video with all of your personal contacts, anywhere, no matter the platform or device they’re on, across Windows, Android or iOS. If the person you’re connecting to on the other end hasn’t downloaded the Teams app, you can still connect with them via two-way SMS,” Microsoft explains.
Android app support also missing
“Windows 11 also gives you a more natural way to connect with friends and family through Teams, allowing you to instantly mute and unmute, or start presenting directly from the taskbar.”
Another feature missing from the first Windows 11 preview build is support for Android apps. The upcoming operating system will allow users to install apps from the Amazon Appstore, as well as using Android APK installers, therefore bringing the desktop and mobile worlds closer together.
Microsoft says Android app support is also coming later this year, first as part of the Windows Insider program and then for everybody else when Windows 11 is ready to launch.
