Microsoft has released a new Microsoft Edge Dev update, and this time the focus is less on new capabilities and more on refining the experience overall.

First and foremost, Microsoft Edge Dev build 89.0.774.4 comes with a new option that allows users to easily add the current page to a Collection, and all it takes is a right-click, as Microsoft explains in the official changelog (also embedded below).

The update also comes with improved performance of Read Aloud in PDF documents, and includes lots of fixes for crashes occurring at various moments when using the browser.

For example, if the browser crashed when closing Edge or when simply right-clicking in its UI, everything should now work correctly after deploying this Dev update.

Microsoft Edge 88 improvements

In addition, the company has also shared some news on the latest Edge 88 stable update, highlighting the support for browser profiles in websites installed as apps and PWAs and the Password Monitor feature.

In addition, Microsoft reminded users that Edge now comes with its very own native theme support that lands in addition to the visual styles already available in the Chrome Web Store.

“Finally, after a long wait, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve opened up our own Theme store on the Microsoft Edge Add-ons website!  We’ve got exclusive themes for Edge that feature many your (and our) favorite Xbox franchises,” Microsoft explains.

Keep in mind this new Dev build is still an experimental release, and it should only be installed by testers who want to try out new improvements in advance. Microsoft is projected to bring these new features currently available in the Dev channel to the stable channel in the coming months, as the purpose right now is to collect as much feedback as possible.
