Another testing version of Edge makes its way to mobile

Microsoft is working on improving Microsoft Edge browser on all fronts, so in addition to the desktop, the company is also very committed to delivering a more refined experience on mobile as well.

This is why Microsoft Edge for iPhone and Android is constantly being updated with new capabilities, but a priority for Microsoft has become offering users the chance to try out new features in advance.

In other words, the Redmond-based software giant wants users to be able to get access to the same development stages as those on the desktop, and this is why it recently released the canary build of Microsoft Edge on Android too.

And this week, TechDows has spotted that Microsoft also launched a Dev version of Microsoft Edge on Google’s mobile operating system, obviously with pretty much the same purpose: giving users the chance to try out new capabilities before they make their way to the stable version of the browser.

Weekly updates?

“Want to be one of the first to preview what’s new? The Microsoft Edge preview channels are now available for mobile! This is the Microsoft Edge Dev channel for Android. Our Dev builds are the best representation of our improvements in the past week. Your feedback is what helps us improve, so download now and let us know what you think,” Microsoft explains in the description published on the Google Play store.

The current version of Microsoft Edge Dev available on Android devices is 91.0.864.11, and it requires at least Android 5.0 to be installed.

Microsoft is yet to officially announce the Dev version of Microsoft Edge for Android devices, but expect more information to be shared soon.

If the same release cadence as on the desktop is being used, then Edge Dev for Android should receive updates once every week.
