Microsoft has recently updated the beta channel of Microsoft Edge, finally promoting version 91 from the Dev channel to users enrolled in this testing track.

The new beta build of Microsoft Edge is 91.0.864.11, and just as expected, it comes with several new features that have previously been tested as part of the Dev builds.

The official changelog, however, provides a closer look at some of these changes, confirming that Microsoft Edge now comes with a collection of its very themes, as well as with support for Speech Recognition APIs.

“Starting with Microsoft Edge version 91, API support for speech recognition commands on Google.com and similar sites will be added. This feature is limited to a randomly selected group of users who have enabled experimentation. These users are giving feedback to the feature team,” the software giant explains.

As expected, Microsoft Edge is also evolving in terms of PDF capabilities, so version 91 introduces an option to print the current page for a more straightforward experience.

Edge 91 to land later this month

For enterprises, Microsoft has added new Microsoft Defender Application Guard refinements.

“Starting with Microsoft Edge version 91, there’s built in support to tag network traffic originating from Application Guard containers, allowing enterprises to identify them and apply specific policies,” Microsoft explains. “Starting with Microsoft Edge version 91, users have the option to configure Application Guard to synchronize their favorites from the host to the container. This ensures new favorites appear on the container as well.”

Needless to say, it’s important to keep in mind this is still a beta build of the browser, so while most of the features will most likely work just as expected, there’s also a chance you might come across various bugs that should be fixed by the time version 91 hits the stable channel.

According to Microsoft’s release schedule, Edge 91 is projected to hit the production channel in the week of May 27.
